New British Landscapes brings together the work of a number of artists and seeks to find in their disparate practices some form of shared concern with context and environment, specifically in their attempt to reconnect with the tacit and physical; a longing often answered only in terms of uncertainty and groundlessness. The question of what constitutes a ‘landscape’ is interpreted by each; the whole representing a variegated account of the subject and of its potential to aid our understanding of our present locale.
