/news/Shards of Utopia at Late at Tate

Charlesworth, Lewandowski & Mann are showing a series of new works at Late at Tate on Friday 9th April from 6pm until 9.30pm at Tate Britain.

Shards of Utopia, curated by Cecilia Wee, is an event incorporating live art, music, installation and discussion.

Situating itself in a post-utopian world in which we struggle to accept the notion of a holistic, universal idea of utopia, Shards of Utopia explores how cultural remnants of a revolutionary and hopeful past continue to be powerfully resonant for our present.

Inhabiting the tension between nostalgia and ideology, artists Charlesworth, Lewandowski & Mann, Counterproductions, Emma Leach, Jon Hawken, Klub Fiskulturnik, Mick Jones, Resonance FM, Steven Ounanian, Taigen Kawabe, They Are Here and Tom Badley investigate utopian ideals.

The constellation of ideas developed through the course of the event are brought together by a limited edition leaflet designed by Jonathan Barnbrook, with contributions from curators and writers from across the globe: Dani Admiss, Olaf Arndt, Elizabeth Monoian & Rob Ferry, Claire Louise Staunton and Juha van ‘t Zelfde.

Curated by Cecilia Wee.
